The aim of this task is to have students evaluate political arguments
1. Students are given a political argument and asked to find concrete evidence for the claims in the argument and then to research to determine how true and valid it is ie are there counter or missing evidences.
2. Students develop their critical thinking skills. They find some of their own opinions get challenged and learn that there is good evidence for and against arguments.
This is more appropriate than asking students to write an essay, developing an opinion they have not got the resources to seriously decide on.
