Film still with set of interpretive dimensions e.g. camera angle/tracking/scope, Mise-en-scène etc.

Compile a “reading” of the scene

Set up extract from literary text. Get students to “translate” film vocabulary to literary vocabulary, e.g. “point-of-view shot”, first person, flashback = discontinuous narrative.

Using these terms, develop a reading of the passage.
