1. Ask students to design a survey questionnaire or interview schedule that helps them to investigate a political issue/debate.
2. Ask them to test their survey/schedule on friends/family/peers.
3. Discuss survey/schedule results in tutorials. What did they find out? Could they have asked different/better questions to improve their results?
4. Students write a reflection The assessment submission includes the original and revised schedules/survey plus an essay reflecting on their research findings and practice.
(Note that you will probably need to obtain taught-ethics clearance for this task. Discuss this with your students.)
