1. Students spend two one hour sessions with specific groups to experience sociological attitudes to construction of stigma in society. Groups could include disabled respite groups, age care, higher needs activity group.
2. Students hold conversation with residents, share lunch or play games guided by lecturer.
3. Identify elements in society that may have a negative impact on these people. Use sociological imagination of how such private troubles can become public issues.
4. Illustrate these elements on ‘Role on the wall’. Provide about five life size figures drawn on butchers paper to represent people.
