Common sense – assignment

Students are given a range of common sense statements and asked to write a short essay on why one of them might not be true. They are told they do not need to do any reading. If they do use other people's ideas they must be cited. It is their own ideas and willingness to think outside the box that counts.

Examples of topics are “Australia is a democracy” or “We should pay more attention to scientists”.
